Associate Vice Provost for Academic Advising and Transitions

The Associate Vice Provost for Academic Advising and Transitions provides the overall vision and leadership for academic advising at Texas State. This role focuses on advancing a coordinated, student-centered academic advising experience that supports students from their transition into the university through degree completion.

By setting strategy, building partnerships across campus, and championing innovative approaches to academic advising, he ensures that academic advising remains a critical driver of academic success at TXST.

Academic Advising Operations

Our Academic Advising Operations team leads the systems, processes, and infrastructure that support academic advising across campus. This team ensures that advising is efficient, accessible, and aligned with institutional goals.

From technology and data to training and assessment, Academic Advising Operations equips academic advisors with the tools and resources they need to do their best work while helping the institution continuously improve the advising experience for students and academic advisors.

Directors of Academic Advising

The Directors of Academic Advising provide leadership within each academic advising center. They guide teams of professional academic advisors and ensure that academic advising practices are responsive to the needs of their students and aligned with university and college priorities.

Directors play a key role in connecting students to their academic communities, partnering with college leadership and academic departments, supporting academic advisor development, and implementing strategies that promote student persistence, engagement, and timely graduation.
