Each undergraduate student will either be assigned to an academic advisor or to their academic advising center while an advisor is identified for them.

Find Out How You're Connected

Before you schedule, it helps to know whether you have an individual academic advisor or are connected through your academic advising center. Either way leads to a great conversation, and the two paths just get there a little differently.

    1. Log in to NavigateTXST with your TXST NetID and password.
    2. Locate your Student Success Team by selecting “Resources” and then “People”
    3. Look for the role of Advisor.
    4. If a person is listed, that is your academic advisor. If an academic advising center is listed, you are assigned to that center until you are assigned an academic advisor. 

    1. Open your Degree Audit.
    2. Look at the header at the top of the audit.
    3. Find the field titled “Your Academic Advisor”
    4. If a person is listed, that is your academic advisor. If an academic advising center is listed, you are assigned to that center until you are assigned an academic advisor.

What does it mean if I'm connected to an academic advising center?

It means your academic advising center, not one individual, is your team. You'll still get the same guidance from academic advisors who know your major well. Follow the steps below for students connected through a center, or reach out using the directory further down this page.

Scheduling an Appointment

Once you know how you're connected, here's how to get on the calendar.

  • You can book directly in NavigateTXST, on the app or the website.

    1. Log in to NavigateTXST with your TXST NetID and password.
    2. Select Appointments, then Schedule Appointment.
    3. For the type of appointment, choose Academic Advising.
    4. Choose the service that fits the reason for your visit, then select Find Available Time.
    5. Pick a time with your academic advisor.
    6. Choose how you'd like to meet, if you're offered options. Use the comment box to share your questions or goals, so your academic advisor can prepare.
    7. Select Schedule, then check your TXST email for your confirmation, including your Zoom link or meeting location.

  • Students assigned to an academic advising center should schedule with the center rather than through an individual academic advisor's calendar. Use one of these two options.

    1. Check your TXST email or NavigateTXST messages for an advising appointment invitation from your academic advising center. Use the scheduling link in that message to choose a time.
    2. If you don't see an invitation, contact your academic advising center directly, and staff will help you book an appointment. Find your center's phone number and email in the contact table below.

    Your center will be listed in NavigateTXST under your Student Success Team. Be sure to search your TXST email for a message from your center.

    Not sure whether you have an invitation?
    Search your TXST email for “academic advising appointment.” If nothing appears, contact your center. You do not need to wait for an invitation.
