  • Your Academic Advising Update will explain your next steps.

Some students may need additional support before their first-semester schedule is complete.

This may happen for several reasons, including missing or pending college credit information, TSI or placement requirements, course availability, major changes, program-specific requirements, or information that needs to be clarified before enrollment.

If this applies to you, your Academic Advising Update will explain your next steps. You may be invited to receive support through the TXST Course Registration Lab during NSO.

The TXST Course Registration Lab is designed to help students who need additional support with registration, schedule adjustments, or completing their first-semester schedule.

  • Your course recommendation plan is designed to help you begin your first semester with degree-applicable coursework.

After your Academic Advising Update is sent and your New Student Advising Hold is lifted, you may be able to make eligible changes to your schedule.

Make changes carefully. Adjusting your schedule without understanding your degree requirements may affect your progress, full-time status, course sequencing, financial aid, or participation in certain programs.

If you are unsure whether a schedule change is appropriate, contact Academic Advising before making the change.

  • Your Course Recommendation Plan is based on the major listed in your student record when Academic Advising reviews your profile. If your major changes, your course recommendations may need to be reviewed or updated.
