Overview
Confirm your major, sign up for New Student Orientation, finalize housing requirements, and unlock your New Bobcat Enrollment Profile in the TXST Future Bobcat Portal.
TSI scores or exemptions must be on file before we can advise and enroll you. If your TSI scores are missing, your enrollment workflow will pause until we receive those scores or proof of exemption.
What to Do
- Complete Your TXST New Bobcat Major Declaration Form: Before you can sign up for NSO, students must confirm their major in the TXST Future Bobcat Portal.
- Sign Up for NSO: After confirming your major, you will be redirected back to the TXST Future Bobcat Portal, where you can sign up for an NSO session.
- Fulfill Housing Requirements: If you are living on campus, submit your housing contract. If you are requesting to live off campus, submit your exemption request for review.
You can access these requirements via your portal.
Common Questions
-
Why do I have to sign up for NSO and housing before starting NBE?
Signing up for NSO and completing your housing requirements tells us you have taken concrete steps to attend Texas State. These steps also help us confirm your living arrangements. Once both are done, we will open your New Bobcat Enrollment Profile so you can continue the process.
-
I’m not living on campus—do I still need to do anything for housing?
Yes. If you’re living off-campus, you must have this approved by Housing and Residential Life and have your record updated for the New Bobcat Enrollment Profile to appear in your portal.
-
What if I’m missing TSI scores or an exemption?
We can’t advise and enroll you in classes until the TSI info is on file. That might mean your course placement is delayed until we receive those scores or exemptions.
