Texas State University is committed to ensuring you will get the courses you need to graduate on time. 

If a required course for your major/minor/concentration/certification is full, not offered, or conflicts with another required course, use this page to tell us so we can help you stay on track to graduate.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The course is required on your degree plan (major/minor/concentration/certification) and affects your timely progression or graduation.
  • You attempted to register but were unable to do so (full/not offered/time conflict/section cancelled).
  • The course is a pre-/co-requisite for an upcoming required course/internship.
  • You have already met with or attempted to meet with your academic advisor about this need.

Requests Will Not Be Considered If:

  • The course is an elective or optional class. 
  • You have not yet met the prerequisites for the course. 
  • You have multiple remaining semesters, and the course will be offered again before graduation. 
  • You are requesting a preferred instructor, time, or modality (these are not guaranteed). 

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Initial Screening: Academic Advising will verify eligibility and assess the impact on degree progression. 

    Department Review: Requests are grouped by course and sent to academic departments for assessment of demand and scheduling options. 

    Decision & Notification: Students are notified whether (a) a section will be created, (b) space can be found in an existing section, or (c) alternative options (substitutions, independent study, etc.) will be offered.
